What happens in Vegas … gets made fun of in Twisted Vegas. Shortly after takeoff in your flight to this Sin City, you’ll have Katy Perry’s “Waking Up In Vegas” ringing around in your head and in 5…4…3…2…1… you’ve arrived at your destination, a witty show that pokes fun at some of Vegas’ stalwarts.
The show’s “tour guide,” French star Alex Goude, begins with Cirque du Soleil’s Mystère, featuring the KriStef Brothers replicating the production’s balancing feats with a comedic bent (even the show’s giant baby makes an appearance). From Dimos as a Criss Angel mini-me doing lackluster tricks to Goude’s shadow puppet solo right out of KÀ, Twisted Vegas touches on everything Cirque.
For non-Cirque entertainment, singer-impersonator Costic channels one of the city’s most iconic resident headliners, Celine Dion, performing “All By Myself” and “My Heart Will Go On” with her mannerisms, French accent and grand style down to a T.
And the Strip shows don’t stop there. Le Rêve, Rock of Ages and Blue Man Group get nods as well. Katya’s jaw-dropping aerialist moves, Nelson and Goulya Pivaral’s graceful choreography, Michael Goudeau’s juggling skills and Sasha Pivaral’s riveting bow-and-arrow skit all add a “wow” factor. And even Elvis makes a comeback during the “Viva Las Vegas” finale, set in a wedding chapel. After all, Vegas is most famous for folks getting hitched.
