Many acts featured on television’s America’s Got Talent leave us speechless, but very rarely are the acts speechless themselves. That all changed with last season’s emergence of Tape Face, aka New Zealand comic mime Sam Wills. Using a variety of props, some perfect timing and a pair of eyeballs that spoke volumes, Tape Face proved to be an endless source of entertainment, whether it was dancing with himself to “Lady In Red” or having a pair of oven mitts sing along to (and eventually kiss to) “Endless Love.” It wasn’t just the scenarios he was creating; it was his reactions that really sold them.
As the season continued, the true entertainment value of Tape Face was in trying to figure out what he was up to next. A bunch of red balloons? A staple gun? A horse’s head on a stick? You were just helplessly along for the ride, but you were always laughing.
Tape Face, who brings his unique brand of comedy to Las Vegas, has managed to tap into that part of everyone’s childhood when they let their imaginations run wild. Regardless of your maturity level, we dare you to keep a straight face during this show.
