Former radio personality, author and humorist Garrison Keillor is bringing his beloved Lake Wobegon to Las Vegas, complete with news reports of its citizens, town events and friendly chitchat.

The thing is, as most everyone knows, Lake Wobegon is a figment of Keillor’s fertile imagination, and its “existence” was first brought to light on his popular radio show A Prairie Home Companion, which he retired from in July. His wit and storytelling talents make him one of the country’s most acclaimed speakers, and he has received Grammy, ACE and George Foster Peabody awards.

In his live show, Just Passing Through, he shares anecdotes about this Minnesota “town,” which Keillor suggests was his boyhood home. Keillor delivers entertaining moments of how small-town life used to be and how things were “way back when.” So what if you can’t find the town on a map and can’t physically visit there? You can enjoy being part of it all through Keillor’s storytelling during his night at The Smith Center.
