Sara Evans would have been a perfect celebrity in the 1970s, when celebrities did everything and were everywhere, participating on game shows, in athletic endeavors—whatever it took to elevate their careers. Evans does all these things and she does them well.
The 46-year-old singer, originally from Boonville, Mo., has been a mainstay on the country music scene since 1997 when she released her debut album Three Chords and the Truth. Her album Born To Fly came out three years later and catapulted Evans to a new level of fame. The song “Born To Fly” reached No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs Chart. “I Could Not Ask For More” and “I Keep Looking” both found top 10 success.
Evans has maintained her public persona not just through crafting one popular hit after the next, but also by showing her versatile skills in other forms of entertainment. She’s been a contestant on Dancing With The Stars, a guest star on comedy and drama programs like The Jeff Foxworthy Show and Nashville, and has appeared on three episodes of CMT Crossroads.
