Naming a band 10 Years is either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic, depending on your viewpoint about the life cycle of the typical rock band. But Tennessee hard rockers 10 Years have outlasted expectations on both sides: The band is closing in on 20 years of making music, and despite titling their 2015 album From Birth to Burial in anticipation of a potential break-up, they came roaring back with last year’s (How to Live) as Ghosts, led by hit single “Novacaine.”

Influenced by ’90s alt-metal bands like Tool and the Deftones, 10 Years broke into the mainstream with 2005’s “Wasteland,” and they’ve since dominated rock radio with songs like “Beautiful” and “Shoot It Out,” and toured with major rock acts including Korn, Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin. Ghosts saw the return of founding members Matt Wantland and Brian Vodinh, joining longtime vocalist Jesse Hasek to give the band renewed strength. “It’s as good as what we had in the beginning,” Hasek told Loudwire when Ghosts was released. With guitarists Wantland and Vodinh back in the fold, the band has been performing songs from throughout its career at recent headlining gigs, and seems poised to tackle the next 10 years with ferocity.
