Las Vegas offers an endless array of options for whatever you’re in the mood for, and that includes Downtown. To help you get the most out of your time there, our staff has compiled some recommendations—everything from where to eat to what to see.

Get the Experience

It’s that time again. You know which one. The time to get all up in that funk. Vibe with those hot grooves. Bob your head to those nasty bass lines. Immerse yourself in those soulful jams that leave you no choice but to get up and dance.

No group can better get your booty shaking and keep you funkified than GapX–The Band, the high energy R&B outfit featuring six members of the famed Gap Band. The X here stands for “Experience,” and with so many players from the heyday of The Gap Band, audiences get that official Gap experience of the heavy funk years.

“You Dropped a Bomb on Me” reached No. 2 on the Billboard R&B charts and No. 31 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982. Now, 36 years later, spin that track at any club in the world and the dance floor will be filled. “Early in the Morning” was an even bigger hit, peaking at No. 1 on the R&B charts and No. 24 on the Hot 100.

Emotional Eating

Decadent, ooey, gooey yum awaits at one of downtown’s favorite food spots, Therapy. In honor of National S’mores Day, Aug. 10, the restaurant will offer its cast-iron s’mores dessert for just $8.

The sweet delight is served in a cast-iron skillet lined with graham crackers and layered with semisweet chocolate, caramel and toasted marshmallows. For the adventurous eater, ask your server to add some chopped-up pieces of bacon—at no additional cost!

Therapy offers gastropub fare that’s delicious and creative, like the chicken and waffle sliders with red velvet waffles and buttermilk fried chicken breast with red pepper remoulade slaw. Other standout stars include fried mac croquettes, wagyu beef burger, artichoke and lump crab dip, and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with truffle goat cheese.
