Most Las Vegas residencies are all about consistency, with performers delivering the same carefully choreographed show each night. But alt-rock band Incubus is offering a different kind of residency with its four shows this month and next at the Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel. With a catalog that spans more than two decades, the Southern California band has dozens of songs to draw from, and each night promises to be an entirely different experience.

“We’re always interested in not repeating ourselves, even when we’re doing a normal tour like the one we just came off. We want to change it up every time, so there will be (four) very different sets in Las Vegas,” singer Brandon Boyd told Las Vegas Magazine just before the residency’s initial scheduled dates (it was postponed following the Oct. 1 shooting). Sets will undoubtedly feature Incubus hits like “Drive,” “Wish You Were Here,” “Pardon Me” and “Anna Molly,” but beyond that anything goes. Given the chance to stretch out and explore, Incubus is taking the idea of the Vegas residency in its own unique direction.
