Las Vegas offers an endless array of options for whatever you’re in the mood for, and that includes Downtown. To help you get the most out of your time there, our staff has compiled some recommendations—everything from where to eat to what to do.

That’s Italian!

There are many excellent restaurants Downtown, but lovers of classic Italian should head straight to Grotto at Golden Nugget. The selection ranges from paninis, sandwiches, pizzas and parmigiana during lunch to pastas, zuppas and traditional entrées for dinner, including veal kickerillo, pictured, a unique offering with Parmesan-crusted veal scaloppine awash in lemons and mushrooms with hints of citrus highlighting the dish. And don’t miss out on the first-class wine selection. –Las Vegas Magazine Staff

Beer o’clock

Las Vegas’ craft beer scene is impressive, and you can start your journey at Banger Brewing, a friendly, welcoming business launched by beer fanatics. Almost nothing is off limits here, from a blueberry rhubarb sour to a gin barrel-aged imperial IPA. Start your experience with a flight, and then settle down with a full glass. –Ken Miller
