The Gin Blossoms wrapped their 25th Anniversary of New Miserable Experience Tour with a Feb. 24 gig in Hanover, Md., but they are continuing to play concerts through May. Whether fan demand results in them continuing to play their 1992 breakout album track-to-track remains to be seen, but as long as the hits “Hey Jealousy” and “Found Out About You” are on their set lists, the Gin Blossoms can count on remaining a concert draw. Audiences can also count on them delivering a handful of covers, too. As of late they’ve performed The Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way” and the Byrds’ “I’ll Feel a While Lot Better” at shows.

The band spent time last year with producers Don Dixon and Mitch Easter (who were behind the mixing boards for REM’s first two albums) in Easter’s fabled North Carolina studio last year, and have an album’s worth of material to distribute once they strategize how to release it themselves. It would be their first new musical experience since 2010’s No Chocolate Cake, and another reason to get back on the road.

As long as singer Robin Wilson doesn’t get too comfortable in his side gig fronting the Smithereens, The Gin Blossoms are set to provide ’90s-style jangle rock for years to come.
