It takes place in a glorified parking lot and in truth, that’s exactly where it should be. Punk Rock Bowling, this year celebrating its 20th anniversary, has been housed in a number of outdoor venues, both in Las Vegas and throughout the country. But the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center has just the right amount of grit for the three-day event.

A word of caution to this year’s acts: You better bring it! Last year’s headliner, the ageless Iggy Pop, tore through a scorching set featuring both solo hits and favorites from The Stooges. It was widely regarded as one of the best shows of 2017. This year’s headliners include At the Drive-In. Now on its second reunion, the El Paso, Texas-based post-hardcore band is ferocious live. Rounding out the top acts are NOFX, masters of skate punk for 35 years, and politically driven hard rockers Rise Against.

But there’s so much more to PRB besides the festival, including pool parties, a comedy show, poker tournaments and movies. Then there are all those rad late-night club shows with bands like The Bronx and Fishbone. And, lest we forget, bowling.
