If Brookliyn Wren looks familiar, it’s likely from fight night. The Alaska-born, Las Vegas-based model has been a UFC ring girl for the last year, spending her weekends at battles across the country, where she struts the Octagon carrying round cards and cheers for the mixed martial artists on the mat. “It’s such an intense sport, and the fighters are so strong. We’re there to make it a little softer,” she says.

Wren documents her travels, modeling and everyday life on Instagram under the handle @brookliyn_wren, where followers see shots of her outside the cage at Madison Square Garden and hiking trails in Red Rock Canyon.

“I like to show confidence through my pictures,” says Wren, who often pairs serious photos with goofy captions. “I like to show people I have a personality.”

Wren started modeling through beauty pageants in Alaska, before catching the eye of a talent scout during a model search in Las Vegas. The then-14-year-old earned a trip to New York where she walked in a fashion show and posed for a photo shoot.

“That’s how I really knew that I wanted to model,” says the 23-year-old, who felt at home surrounded by other beautiful, statuesque women. “I was always tall. When I was younger, I was 5-foot-7 or 5-foot-8 as a freshman.”

Along with UFC, these days Wren spends her time doing calendar shoots and modeling for clothing sites. Her favorite part of the gig are fashion shows—anytime she can get out on the catwalk and stride. “I try to put a lot of hip into it, a very confident, straight-forward walk.”

When Wren pictures her future, it’s not just as another leggy clothes hanger standing in front of the camera. She wants to be in Sports Illustrated, to become a name that rings out, a face people know. “I don’t do it to become Instagram famous,” she says. “I do it to become known for something.”
