Who doesn’t enjoy a good storyteller and comedian? And Ron White is among the best. Maybe it’s his spot-on timing that helps him spin a good yarn. Or perhaps it’s his Southern drawl that gets audiences caught up in his homespun adventures. A native Texan, stand-up comedian Ron White enjoys talking about his real life beginnings with his childhood to present day. And you can count on him having his favorite cigar in one hand and a glass of scotch in the other or at least within grabbing range. White good-naturedly tells his audiences that he has done his share of drinking—and even drinking and driving—in his time. From his new special on Netflix, If You Quit Listening I’ll Shut Up, he quips, “I drank so much in my life, now on the back of my driver’s license there is a list of organs I need!” The comic’s website, tatersalad.com is his nickname, “Tater Salad” a moniker which he gave himself when he was picked up by the police during his younger years and they asked if he had any aliases. In fact, White titled his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad and 14 years later both he and the nickname are still going strong.
