From Sinatra, Liberace and Elvis to Celine, Cirque and Seinfeld, Las Vegas has been home to in-demand entertainment pretty much since the first neon tube was installed on Las Vegas Boulevard. Last year, the Entertainment Capital of the World added a new headliner to its roster: the Vegas Golden Knights, an expansion National Hockey League franchise and the first major professional sports team to call this desert city home.

To say the new kids on the NHL block had a successful inaugural season would be akin to suggesting the Strip is a tad crowded on Saturdays. Not only did the 2017-’18 Golden Knights make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Final—obliterating expansion-franchise records along the way—but they were a smash hit at the box office. averaging 18,042 fans in 41 regular-season games at T-Mobile Arena.

Thanks to additional standing-room-only space that was created in the offseason, T-Mobile once again is certain to exceed 100 percent capacity during the Knights’ second season, which began earlier this month. But don’t let that dissuade you from attempting to nab one of the hottest tickets on the Strip—because if you can, you’ll be treated not just to thrilling, fast-paced hockey played at the highest level but also to an only-in-Vegas entertainment spectacle that has become the envy of the NHL.

This week, the Golden Knights welcome two foes: the Pacific Division-rival Vancouver Canucks (who went 0-4 against Vegas last season); and the reigning Eastern Conference champion Tampa Bay Lightning (who lost both meetings with the Knights last year).

If you can’t score tickets to one of those games, consider planning a return trip to catch one of these five clashes, all of which figure to be intriguing in their own way:

Nov. 23: James Neal, who scored the first two goals in Knights history and quickly became a fan favorite, returns to T-Mobile with his new team, the Calgary Flames. Expect emotions to run high in this one.

Dec. 4: The Washington Capitals visit Vegas for the first time since June, when they skated all over the T-Mobile ice while hoisting their first Stanley Cup. Might the home team (and its fans) be out for a little revenge?

Jan. 1: The Knights usher in 2019 by hosting the Los Angeles Kings in what will be the third meeting between the division rivals in eight days. What’s that saying about familiarity breeding contempt? Odds are this one gets heated.

Jan. 19: Popular Golden Knights goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury gets another crack at his former team, the Pittsburgh Penguins, whom the team defeated 2-1 in Vegas last year.

Feb. 22: Speaking of revenge, the Winnipeg Jets will have payback in mind at T-Mobile in a rematch of last year’s Western Conference Final, which the Knights won in five games.
