True crime has taken over pop culture. Documentary series like The Jinx, Making a Murderer and Wild Wild Country, and narrative shows like American Crime Story and Dirty John have become mainstream successes thanks to audiences’ seemingly insatiable interest in real-life stories of murder, scandal and fraud. Comedians Karen Kilgariff (left) and Georgia Hardstark were among the first to ride the true-crime wave, with their massively popular podcast My Favorite Murder, which launched in January 2016 and now boasts upward of 19 million downloads each month.

Kilgariff and Hardstark take on different true tales of murder in each episode, ranging from the well-known to the obscure. They’ve built up a supportive community of listeners who call themselves “Murderinos,” and that dedicated following has translated into the real world, with sold-out live presentations around the country. Many of those live shows end up as My Favorite Murder episodes, and the last time that Kilgariff and Hardstark were in Vegas, they recorded a live episode about the notorious local murders of Ted Binion and Gerard Soules.

There’s no word yet on the subject of the duo’s latest Vegas show, but fans can expect something unique and engrossing, adding to the growing pop-culture true-crime canon.
