A mysterious drifter shows up at a makeshift chapel somewhere in the Nevada desert, miles away from a gritty, graffiti-strewn version of Las Vegas. He’s there to break up a wedding, and after he accomplishes the task, he’s on the run with the bride, chased by the dangerous and angry groom and his gang.
During a frantic car chase, attackers leap and somersault onto the moving vehicle while the drifter tries to maintain control. The fierce bride battles each attacker, throwing kicks and punches on top of the car and sending her opponents bouncing across the desert floor while scenery and dialogue flashes across the screens onstage and along the theater walls.
There’s almost too much to take in from this single scene of R.U.N, Cirque du Soleil’s new action-thriller at Luxor. It’s like nothing you’ve seen before in Vegas or anywhere else … and that’s just the beginning.
