Since you’ll have to wait just a little longer before taking that trip to Las Vegas, a little piece of the city is being brought to you. To commemorate the 108th anniversary of the sinking of the RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912, the Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition—the popular, long-running attraction at Luxor—presents Titanic: The Virtual Experience.

For the first time ever, guests can virtually tour the 25,000-square-foot exhibition filled with the rich history of one of the world’s most tragic and fascinating events. From the comfort of your home—using a computer, tablet or mobile device—take the virtual tour that spans the entire exhibition, all 13 galleries, giving guests an up-close view of all the installations.

Learn about the Ship of Dreams from its very beginnings to its creation to its eventual demise. Discover the back stories of its passengers, from the famous and wealthy to the crew and second- and third-class voyagers. Study the laborious and successful recovery process of bringing the ship’s story to light from its final resting place, more than two miles below the surface of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Browse through more than 400 items recovered and now on display at the exhibition. Passenger’s lives come to life as you view personal affects including luggage, eyeglasses, jewelry, shoes, gloves, clothing, shaving kits, letters, perfume bottles and money. Then it’s on to the ship’s items like silverware, plates, china, serving trays and bowls, furniture, window frames, floor tiles from the first-class smoking rooms and even a sealed bottle of champagne from 1900. Guests can immerse themselves in living history, learning the stories of the people on board and finding out the fates of the 2,223 passengers, 1,517 of whom perished just hours after the ship hit the iceberg.

There’s the viewing of the impressive Big Piece, an actual piece of the Titanic’s hull—the largest piece ever brought to the surface. The tour also includes viewing the recreations of third- and first-class cabin accommodations complete with furnishings by original manufacturers, as well as views of the recreated outside Promenade Deck and full-scale replica of the Grand Staircase.

Guests can purchase two different virtual tours, the Light Version or the Full Version, each good for one week of unlimited viewing. For $5, the Light Version includes the virtual walkthrough of all the galleries with detailed information of each artifact on display, viewing the full-scale recreations including the Big Piece and learning about the ongoing conservation and recovery efforts of the artifacts from the ocean floor.

The $15 Full Version includes all the Light Version access plus an audio tour, exclusive, never-before-seen video content from a dive expedition that includes video of the artifacts as they’re being recovered, curators discussing the expedition and video of the actual Titanic wreck site and debris field. The version also includes additional facts and information about Titanic, personal stories of her passengers and crew and an animated timeline of the ship’s tragic sinking.

The first 108 users who download Titanic: The Virtual Experience will receive free access to the Full Version for one week, just enter the code “109anniversary” at checkout (available on a first-come first-serve basis).
