Across the country, everyone is asking when the Las Vegas Strip's shows will return. It’s still a big question mark, but there now might be a hint as to what the first show to return will be: Absinthe at Caesars Palace.

Spiegelworld, the production company behind Absinthe, announced today that staff is preparing Absinthe’s iconic Spiegeltent for reopening. That includes deep internal and external cleaning, an air purification system, and changing the layout of seating within the tent.

There will be no more rowed seating.; all seating will now be cabaret-style. Instead of the usual capacity of 600, the tent will now seat 220 customers, with tables for two to five per party. In addition, the tent is now equipped with a BiPolar Ionization Air Purification System in its HVAC system, designed to reduce airborne contaminants and maximize the amount of fresh air in the mix.

“We have put a lot of work into planning for reopening for our audiences, performers and staff, with safety being our top priority,” said Spiegelworld’s Ross Mollison. “We have a full-time infection mitigation manager on board who has been consulting with health experts and our casino partners to create a comprehensive handbook and set of protocols for how we will operate once Governor Sisolak and the Nevada Gaming Control Board agree it is appropriate for live entertainment to resume. With many enhanced precautions and procedures in place, we believe we are uniquely positioned to present our same raunchy and hilarious shows in a way that should make everybody involved comfortable.”

Spiegelworld is also pursuing similar protocols for its other two shows in Las Vegas: Atomic Saloon Show at The Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian and The Palazzo, and Opium at The Cosmopolitan, including touchless temperature screenings for all patrons before entering, table service to avoid lines at the venue’s bars, and sanitizing venues after each performance.

“I have been so proud of the entire Spiegelworld crew,” said Mollison. “They have faced the past few months with good humor and support for each other. Safety and health are paramount, but fun is what we are all craving and what we know Las Vegas can deliver. We are ready and waiting for the word to get back to doing what we love.”
