A lot of veteran musical acts set up shop in Las Vegas after having been off the road for a long time. But while long-running classic rock band Chicago has enjoyed plenty of success with its Vegas residencies (these latest dates mark the third year in a row the band has played an extended run at The Venetian), the band hasn’t taken any time off. Chicago has toured every year for its entire existence, with 2020 marking the band’s 52nd consecutive year of touring. That makes founding members Robert Lamm, Lee Loughnane and James Pankow some of the hardest-working people in music.

That hard work has paid off in hit singles (including “25 or 6 to 4,” “Saturday in the Park,” “If You Leave Me Now” and many more), album sales and sold-out shows, but the band is also finally starting to reap industry and critical respect. Chicago was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 after 22 years of eligibility, and the band received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Grammys this year. Regardless of accolades, sales records or even lineup changes, Chicago keeps up that relentless touring schedule, just as the band has done for more than 50 years.
