The STRAT has reopened, and along with it two of the most adrenaline-pumping thrill rides you’ll ever experience: Big Shot and SkyJump.

SkyJump has held the Guinness World Record for highest “decelerator descent facility.” That’s a very clinical way of saying it’s going to test your fear of heights in a major way. It’s like a bungee jump without a bounce. Instead, you voluntarily fall at speeds that reach nearly 50 mph while firmly attached to a guided cable. Rather than flying, SkyJump feels like floating, and safety gear is repeatedly checked by multiple attendants. The ride also offers an incomparable view of the Las Vegas Valley, and if you do jump during the day, you owe it to yourself to return for a night jump.

Big Shot takes would-be daredevils to the highest level of The STRAT. It’s more fun than frightening, due in part to being catapulted 160 feet straight up, and in part to the lack of a countdown. Without warning, you’ll be thrust upward with a g-force of 4 (you’ll be cut off In mid-sentence, no question), after which you’ll feel the negative g-forces as you drop—only to be thrust upward again.

Whether these rides make you smile, scream or cry, they're two of the most unforgettable rides ever.

Riders must be at least 48 inches to ride Big Shot. Ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. 702.280.7777 for tickets and information.
