Long-running topless revue Sexxy: The Show reopened at Westgate Las Vegas in August, and producer and star Jennifer Romas added new choreography, scenes and cast members, including singer Anne Martinez and entertainer Rico Bozant. She also brought a fresh perspective to Sexxy after working to expand the brand despite pandemic restrictions. She launched a supper club-style version of the show, Sexxy After Dark, at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, and now she’s presiding over both productions with plans for further growth.

In a tough period when so many shows struggled to survive, you found ways to thrive and grow.

Big time. Aside from the obvious COVID things like loneliness, financial struggles and the fear of getting sick, it was a game-changer for me in every aspect of my life. It was figuring out a lot of things about myself and finding the most incredible man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and just growing in terms of my business. It pushed me to work differently.

That man you found has also joined the cast of Sexxy. Tell us more.

Well, I don’t want to get all sappy, but Rico’s perspective and how he views things that have happened have been really eye-opening to me as an individual and a businessperson. I’ve learned to delegate, learned to take time for myself, learned how to grow this team and give other people leadership roles. I realized I cannot do it all by myself. I actually have a dance captain and a company manager now, and other team members doing everything, which is great.

You have other new cast members as well, including singer Anne Martinez and a handful of new dancers, which probably makes it easier to operate both versions of the show.

Yes. Essentially the girls who have been with me for a while can swing into either show. But even though we had a short period of time to (prepare to) reopen at Westgate, we still worked on redoing the show, recostuming, changing out some routines and music and acts because of the new talent on board. I tried to add a little something for everybody.

While the Sexxy After Dark production is still running at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, you have plans to expand that side of your business, right?

As soon as Westgate is up and running and everything is smooth, we’ll be working on getting two other shows up and running in Oklahoma and New York, at other Hustler venues. The Westgate family has been incredible in the six years we’ve been here, and this is what we do—we grow and meet new people and find new avenues for win-win situations. I’m thrilled to be working with both teams and excited to be employing three times as many people as before.

It sounds like a new challenge to have different irons in the fire with your Sexxy brand, but it seems like you’re enjoying it, too.

Am I stressing? Of course! But we’re going to do what we do and come out strong. If the girls and the team have a great show and people walk out feeling happy, and hopefully aroused a little bit, then we did our job. And that’s why we do this. All the buildup and the stress and pulling people together, all of that gets us to the stage where we get to live, and we haven’t had that for a long time, so why complain?
