All Fab Four fans need when they come to Las Vegas is The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. When it premiered at The Mirage in 2006 it represented a groundbreaking new direction for Cirque, made possible due to the friendship between founder Guy Laliberté and George Harrison. Written and directed by Dominic Champagne, the show benefitted from the direct involvement of The Beatles’ primary record producer George Martin and his son Giles as music directors.

LOVE has undergone one revision since its debut and remains a technical masterpiece of sight and sound. “Get Back” and a medley of “Twist and Shout,” “I Want to Hold Your Hand” and “Drive My Car” become sonic settings for colorfully costumed ensemble acts. An alternative version of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” features Harrison’s mournful vocal in an acoustic arrangement as a dancer performs with a hand-drawn animated partner, while four aerial artists celebrate “Here Comes the Sun” with demonstrations of mid-air yoga and contortion.

In the 30 years since Cirque arrived in Vegas it’s created a portfolio of conceptual, transformational entertainment on the Strip, each show having its own distinct personality. Only LOVE enables Beatlemaniacs to get back to where they once belonged.
