What’s something you spend every day in, yet rarely see the inside of? Better yet, what do you touch and operate every day without fully understanding its components? It’s your body, of course! After all, we’re all just a bunch of brains controlling very complex fleshy puppets when you really think about it, and the more you ponder your own body, the more wonder you’ll find.

Admittedly, it would be entirely cruel to bring to the forefront of your mind what a marvel the human form is without offering a convenient, educational attraction that might aid you in your newest quest for information. Good thing REAL BODIES at Horseshoe Las Vegas has been giving visitors an extensive look into our anatomy for more than eight years, and continues to provide an informative, scientific look at skin, bone, muscle and everything in between.

Most known for its considerable collection of preserved human remains, this exhibit takes you through just about anything you can think of relating to the body, be it straightforward anatomical information, anthropological studies or medical technology. You’ll find about 20 full-size preserved bodies dissected in various ways to demonstrate lessons about the digestive and respiratory systems, muscular and skeletal structures and much more. Additionally, more than 200 specimens offer insight into the toll disease takes on the body, the complex webs of veins that move blood throughout the body, and even nerve networks that allow us to feel from inside ourselves and the world around us.

Each preserved sample has undergone the process of polymer preservation—a common practice in which water and soluble fats are removed from the body with acetone and then replaced by liquid polymer.

At this point, it’s possible you’ve thought to yourself, “Whoa!” And honestly, if you have, we can’t blame you. This attraction is not for the faint of heart. Beyond housing many, many, many human specimens, visitors can expect to confront their own mortality.

You’ll learn all about the behaviors and habits that reduce the number of years you may get with your body and discover various cultural rituals surrounding the end of one’s life. Luckily, there’s also a wealth of uplifting sections for you to explore.

Particularly astounding, the “Love” section of the exhibit explores how we connect with others, both emotionally and physiologically, and gives some insight as to why humans tend to seek love. There’s even a heart wall covered with locks symbolizing various couples’ commitment to each other. (Book the Love Room package to add your own lock.)

Speaking of love, if you’re feeling particularly moved by the display (or if you’ve fallen in love), you can book a proposal package or your whole wedding here!

Other neat offerings like the virtual reality package and the souvenir package ensure just about anyone has a fulfilling experience when they visit REAL BODIES. Families can even book a combo pack that offers a little relief for the wallet.
