Crissy Compton is so rock ’n’ roll—she and her husband decided their fate with the toss of a coin. “We flipped a quarter to move either to Las Vegas or Florida,” Compton said. How did it turn out? “Well, it’s been five years in Vegas … I’m so proud of what I’ve accomplished so far.” Last year, Compton helped open Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil’s restaurant, Tatuado Eat-Drink-Party at Circus Circus, where she’s the general manager. She also worked at Rock & Rita’s, the former occupant of the Tatuado space, and Kahunaville in Treasure Island. “Overall, I’ve been in the restaurant business for 20 years,” she said.
The Lexington, Ky., native thrives on the responsibility of her role. “Here at Vince’s place I’ve taken on the role of ‘mom’ and I make sure everything, and I mean everything, runs smoothly.”
Whether eating inside the restaurant proper or having cocktails at the party bus bar situated out front, it’s like taking a time machine back to big hair and larger-than-life bands. Neil loaned some of his own memorabilia to the place and even has a permanently reserved table. “Yes, Vince does come in here, bringing friends like Carrot Top, Nic Cage. … He’s even jumped onstage and performed a few times,” Compton said. When Neil isn’t onstage, local and tribute bands alternate with weekly karaoke events.
“(The staff) puts its heart and soul into this place. It’s the total package.”
Order yourself a fishbowl-size glass and sip on the sweet and smooth Drink & Party specialty cocktail, mixed with Vince Neil’s Tatuado tequila, citrus vodka, raspberry liqueur, Rockstar Punched tropical punch energy drink and cranberry juice. One, or maybe two, of these behemoth bad boys and you’ll be up onstage singing “Dr. Feelgood” in no time.
