Jared Highline is positivity incarnate. “I am the most positive person that you will ever meet,” he says. “I’m just blessed with positivity. I make sure my guests, my staff, are having a good time.” Highline’s personality perfectly lends itself to his job—he’s the general manager for Icebar at The Linq Promenade. “Ninety-nine percent of guests that walk in here say, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever seen’ and that’s such a great feeling that you’re bringing happiness to people that are on vacation,” he says.
It’s so easy to see the passion and drive that Highline has, for not only Icebar, but for life. Born and raised in Colorado, Highline first went to college to earn a degree in construction management. While bartending to earn extra money, he decided to go back to school to earn another degree in business management so he could move up the ladder in food and beverage—which he did, eventually managing various restaurants and bars. Then he went back to school a third time to earn a degree in exercise science, using his skills to become a personal trainer. But after a visit to Las Vegas in 2018 for his birthday, he knew that he wanted to switch back into the F&B industry, but this time in Sin City. “I came to Vegas for my birthday on May 12,” he says. “I loved it! It was so alive. I was like ‘This is what’s up!’ I moved here by June 6.”
With no connections, Highline ended up landing a server position at Yardhouse at Town Square; two months later he was managing the location at Red Rock Resort. “My dad worked every single day of his life and that’s just how I was raised—to work hard for what you want.” He eventually moved to Virgil’s Real Barbecue, also at Linq Promenade, and joined Icebar almost a year ago.

“I’m so appreciative.” Highline says. “I’m so thankful. Sometimes I come to work and just can’t believe it—this is where I actually work? It’s amazing. Yeah, baby!”
Libation: Northern Lights
“It’s the only place that I’ve ever worked that everyone is happy,” Highline says about Icebar. “It’s a party bar. The music is on, the drinks are going, people are having a great time. They get what they came for when they come here.” And that’s to be surrounded by tons and tons of ice. Everything is made of ice, even the glasses that hold the cocktails, like the popular Northern Lights. It’s mixed with rum, melon liqueur and pineapple juice. One of the best parts is the cocktail gets colder the longer you drink it!
Benefit: Guests are surrounded by 90 tons of imported Canadian ice. This place is the king of social media shots.
