When Julia Nina Edano says she has the coolest job, she means it—literally and figuratively. “It’s so fun, it doesn’t even feel like you’re working,” says the bar manager for Minus5 Ice Bar at The Linq Promenade. “This is a bar that is completely made of ice, everything except the floor and ceiling are ice.”
One of the biggest questions about Edano is how she works inside a bar made completely of ice. Doesn’t she get cold? “I wear snow pants, snow boots, earmuffs, hat, gloves,” Edano says. “If it’s busy, like on the weekends, I’m in there all day but I don’t even feel the cold because I’m so busy moving around.”
Want to test your endurance? Stop by Minus5 (if you want to meet Edano, she’s always working on the weekends) and get suited up in a parka or faux-fur coat and gloves, then step inside the freezing temps of this cool bar and lounge. You’ll literally be chillin’ on a slab of ice made into lounge chairs. You can also hang at the bar top made of ice or check out the various ice-carved scenery (great for photo-ops).
Minus5 Ice Bar is Edano’s first job on the Strip and in the bar industry as a whole. The Philippines native, who grew up in Hawaii and Las Vegas, joined the company in 2020 after deciding not to pursue a career in the medical field. “I am so happy being in this industry,” she says. “I love meeting people from all around the world. I love telling people to come check us out, because we really are such a unique experience. There’s no other bar like this. It’s something you should try once—definitely a bucket-list place.”

Libation: Arctic Sunset
Yes, even the glass that your cocktail is served in is made completely of ice! It really is awesome—your drink gets colder and colder as you sip on it, and it never gets watered down. Try one of the most popular menu picks at Minus5, the Arctic Sunset. This specialty cocktail is made with Bacardi Dragonberry rum, pineapple juice, grenadine and Sprite.
Benefit: If you’re with a group order the Shotski—a hockey stick that holds four shots so you can all do it at the same time!
