Vildan Buric works hard so he can play hard. As the director of beverage for Resorts World Las Vegas, he puts nose to the grindstone, and then once a year takes two weeks to travel to exotic locations around the world. (His last vacation was a safari in Africa!)

“I lead the team of bartenders, cocktail servers, barbacks, bar porters and a team of supervisors and managers to drive our goals forward, create innovation and improve the guest experience,” he says, sitting in the Golden Monkey Tiki Lounge, one of the lounges he oversees, and one of his favorites. “Golden Monkey is a one-of-a-kind escape in the heart of Resorts World, providing guests with a vibrant island-inspired oasis,” Buric says.

Making sure that guests have a variety of vibes and spirits to choose from when it comes to bars and lounges is important to Buric, but the job goes way beyond that. “Developing new leaders and helping them grow into the next level—I’m in a position to give people opportunities, and that’s one of the best things about the job,” he says. And Buric continues to work hard even though he’s reached a top position. “I continue to put in effort and continuously improve upon myself and don’t get complacent.”

Buric will continue to play hard, too. Other travels have included snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, traveling through Dubai and Thailand, and the next stop? Who knows! “I really grind when I’m at work,” he says. “But then I tell my boss, ‘Don’t call me for two weeks—I’m somewhere in the world.’”

Libation: Latitude Adjustment

A longtime favorite of guests, the Latitude Adjustment is a sweet, spicy and tangy blend of Bacardi Mango Chile rum, Giffard crème de pêche liqueur, golden turmeric, lime juice and hibiscus ginger beer.

Benefit: For a cocktail with some flair (and fire!), order the rum-based One Way Ticket!
