An office job—no way, not for Dionica Hinkle. The model cocktail server at Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay needs the sunshine. “Being in an office all day long, I was finding the monotony in it, and I like being around lots of people and being outside,” she says.
Hinkle is living her best life as she celebrates her third season with the dayclub, and she’s helping guests live their best lives, too. “For some people, it’s their first time being at a pool club, and just seeing them in awe, I love that,” she says. “Even though it’s the same thing for me every day, for them it’s new, and just seeing that joy, it’s like this is why we do it—creating moments that matter.”
Hinkle has been helping guests create awesome Vegas memories for a handful of years now, working at top spots like Wynn and Topgolf Las Vegas. But being outdoors, in the sun, is what Hinkle loves the best. “I’m a nature girly at heart,” she says.
She also loves working for Clique Hospitality, which owns Daylight Beach Club, and lately has been working closely with the corporate training team. “Food and beverage is something I really enjoy,” she says. “So much so that I want to stay in the industry and move into a corporate role with the company.”
So while you can, catch Hinkle poolside. “If you want to have an outstanding time, I’m going to make sure that happens for you!”
