One could say that bartender Vincent Soranno was born into the Las Vegas industry. He was born and raised in the city, both his mother and father worked in casinos (and still do today), and his brother is also a bartender at a Strip property. “‘Why don’t you try getting into the bar industry, because it would suit your personality’, my parents told me,” Soranno says. “And so, I decided to give it a try. Now, I honestly can’t see myself doing anything else in Vegas.”
After working as a bar apprentice for a few years, he moved over to SAHARA Las Vegas last year and landed a bartending position at the property’s popular eatery and sports-watching haven, Chickie’s & Pete’s Crabhouse & Sports Bar. “We have elevated bar food, plus all the kinds of seafood you can think of,” he says.
Think about grabbing a bite up at Soranno’s bar to enjoy his hospitality. “I kind of feel that hospitality was a calling in a way,” he says. “I’m the outgoing, crazy guy. I’m the guy that makes things less awkward. Even if I don’t know anything about a person when I meet them, I can at least make them smile and laugh. … Come see me at the bar because right away you’re gonna feel welcome. I’m gonna give you all the insight on the menu. I’ve tried everything on the menu—I’ll give an accurate recommendation. If you’re coming to drink, I’m your guy. I’m very personable. You can tell me your life story; I’m here to listen.”

“I love making cocktails that really pop, that’ll make you want to come back to my bar again,” Soranno says. Try one of his faves, the Strawberry Lemon Drop, made with vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, strawberry purée and a sugar rim.
