San Francisco native Federico Flores has worked for Disneyland, Universal Studios, Cirque du Soleil and various Las Vegas attractions like SlotZilla and FLY LINQ Zipline, in roles that include dancing, acting, management and creative. But what has been his favorite role? “This, this is my favorite job out of all the jobs I’ve had.” Wow! Flores is the guest service associate at Omega Mart at AREA15.

“It’s about the connection; when you are connecting one on one with people it’s much more powerful,” he said.

He joined Meow Wolf, the artist collective that built Omega Mart, almost four years ago, and his job is to “connect the guest to the Meow Wolf experience, the artists and the deep narrative that is going on at (Omega Mart),” Flores said. “I elevate the experience.” He’s elevated it so much that he has also become the game master, a position that went viral a few years ago. “I deepen the narrative and deepen the connection to the artists, the art and this experience as a whole.”

Working at Omega Mart, it’s about the art, the creativity, the experience—that’s what feeds Flores’ own creative soul, he explained.

“A big part of the Meow Wolf philosophy is inspiring creativity and venturing out into the world to inspire other people, and I’ve taken that to heart,” he said. “So when people come in and I see that spark or interest, I take that and move them through the experience that allows them to foster their creativity. So, hopefully, by the time they leave here they’ve seen some amazing art and some crazy narratives and they think, ‘How can I be creative?’”
