Rich Galvan has built a successful career in the Vegas food and beverage industry. He’s managed some iconic nightlife venues, including the world-renowned flair bar Carnival Court at Harrah’s, and for the last couple of years he’s served as general manager of operations for The Cabinet of Curiosities at Horseshoe Las Vegas. Despite his successes, he’s a down-to-earth guy. “I hope people come down and see us; if you’re reading this article, ask for me—I’d love to meet you,” says the California native.

Speaking with Galvan, you can tell how proud he is of the bar and lounge. “We’re one of the best beverage experiences in town and we have a unique offering that other bars do not have; and we have good bartenders,” he says. “It’s a combination of things: curiosities and oddities that might be really interesting to people, authentic-appearing speakeasy, some fantastic mixologists that teach the mixology classes, and above all we have some fantastic drinks that will rival any property on the Strip, and I would know!”

When not overseeing the operations of Cabinet of Curiosities and its speakeasy, The Lock, and the Mixology Master Classes, you can find Galvan living the good life, riding his horses and helping to keep Southern Nevada safe as he serves as the vice chairman of Crime Stoppers, a nonprofit that helps solve crimes.

And Galvan constantly keeps full steam ahead. “I love the excitement, the lights, the energy of this city,” he says. “I’m in a constantly evolving profession in a cutting-edge city. I’m proud of the things that I’ve done and participated in, and I don’t have any intentions of slowing down.”

Libation: Festival of Lights

The Cabinet of Curiosities offers many inventive and delicious cocktails, many on the menu since the doors opened, like the popular Festival of Lights. The signature cocktail is mixed with bourbon, vermouth, orangecello, lime juice and honey syrup.

Benefit: Find one of four skeleton keys hidden around the Cabinet of Curiosities to gain entry into The Lock Speakeasy.
