Whether you’re a fan of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel The Great Gatsby or you were first introduced to the novel by way of Baz Luhrmann’s film adaptation of the book starring Leo DiCaprio, the Roaring ’20s party atmosphere laced throughout the story comes alive at the new Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge.

“I feel like a lot of the ambience and aesthetics of the room, the art deco-inspired theme—who better to name it after than the Great Gatsby—the greatest partier of all time,” said Mustafa Abdi, director of marketing for Clique Hospitality, owners of Gatsby’s.

Opulent and luxurious, yet inviting and comfortable, Gatsby’s is more than a center-bar lounge—its décor and space make it a nightlife hot spot where inventive, eye-catching cocktails pair with live DJs. The billowing, sheer curtains close and wrap the lounge in semi-privacy on the weekends, turning Gatsby’s into an over-the-top party spot.

With tequila all the rage, you might want to start the evening with the Hibiscus Paloma, Gatsby’s take on the classic Paloma made with Casamigos blanco tequila, Fever Tree grapefruit soda, house-made hibiscus rose syrup, touch of lime and a hibiscus sugar and salt rim.

Gatsby’s also plays with the time frame in which the story is set, around America’s Prohibition era, so guests are treated to a little interactive fun when ordering cocktails. When you get to the lounge, ask any cocktail server or bartender, “Hi, can I have a matchbook?” and you’ll get the response (just like in the novel), “Of course you can!” You’re then handed a matchbook that contains a QR code revealing a secret menu. Here you’ll find a list of eye-catching, creative-looking libations. The Champagne Bubble Bath, another nod to the Prohibition era and served in a mini bathtub, mixes Botanist gin, Aperol, lime juice, Monin strawberry and rose syrup, rose cava and pineapple juice. Perfect for celebrations, dessert cocktail Sweet Dreams is served inside a dark chocolate-dipped waffle cone and mixes together cognac, marshmallow vodka, Baileys strawberry cream, Tempus Fugit crème de cacao and nutmeg.

“Gatsby’s has become the party bar,” said Abdi. “We’ve brought back the new Roaring ’20s.”
