It’s already one of the hottest spots on the Strip to enjoy a world-class cigar (regular attendees include A-list celebs like Alex Rodriguez, Michael Jordan and Luke Bryan), and now Eight Lounge has added even more elegance to the experience with a new spirit flight menu that features everything from locally produced masterpieces to international favorites. And, as you would expect, all pair excellently with cigars.

The new “Flights at Eight” menu includes your choice of three to five spirits, priced starting at $20. Choices include:

  • The “Battle Born” flight, featuring three premium whiskies distilled in Nevada: Frey Ranch rye, Frey Ranch bourbon and Smoke Wagon straight bourbon ($20);
  • The “Glenfiddich Series” flight, which includes the following varieties of the Speyside Scotch whiskey: 12-Year Single Malt, 14-Year Bourbon Barrel Reserve, 15-Year Solera Aged, 18-Year Ancient Reserve and 26-year Grand Couronne ($125);
  • The “Big Time Scotch” flight, a true connoisseur’s selection consisting of Port Ellen 37-Year, Convalmore 1984 32-Year, and Macallan M ($750).

Just in case the whiskey geeks out there aren’t excited enough, the lounge’s new program also features one of the most exclusive and rare spirits on the planet: Glenfiddich 50-Year Single Malt, with notes of vibrant vanilla and smoke. How rare is it? There are only 220 bottles worldwide! If you’re looking for an “only-in-Vegas” moment, this would be it. (And you know the old saying: “If you have to ask how expensive it is ...”)

Whatever whiskey experience you select, the experts at Eight lounge are able to recommend a cigar selection to complement it. You’ll be taken through all the options at a custom-built, walk-in humidor stocked with more than 150 different varieties, including Montecristo, El Septimo, Arturo Fuente, Padron and more, with pricing from $14 all the way up to a $5,000 cigar, a Gurkha Maharaja proprietary blend.

The filtration inside is state of the art, too—instead of circulating stale air, new air is pumped in every four minutes, creating a fresh, clean smell. Besides cigars and the flight program, Eight Lounge offers handcrafted cocktails, indulgent bites from next-door eatery Brezza, huge outdoor patio and live music and DJs throughout the week.

A great pairing is the El Septimo Bomba Orange cigar with the Smoked Macallan Old-Fashioned. The cocktail is a blend of Macallan Double Cask 12 Year, demerara syrup, angostura aromatic and angostura orange bitters, smoked with cherrywood or applewood. The Costa Rican cigar has dark, woodsy tones and pairs perfectly with the Old-Fashioned.

“Eight is an upscale lounge to get together with friends and enjoy the amenities of a cigar bar and create memories,” said general manager Ian Floranza, who guests can spot on any evening, helping guests pick cigars and pair cocktails, and talking shop. As Floranza says, “The common bond between two people in the cigar industry is that cigar, and they can just start a conversation from there.”
