If you like the old-school Las Vegas vibes of Bugsy & Meyer’s Steakhouse at Flamingo, you’re gonna love the secret that’s hiding inside the restaurant: The Count Room.

The intimate speakeasy is a great place to hang out before your dinner reservation; or make it a late date night with small bites and delicious cocktails. “The cocktail menu is a mixture of classic recipes and (modern) mixology,” says general manager Tyler Olson. If you like the classic Hemingway daiquiri, you’ll want to try the Beverly Hills martini (pictured), a mix of Ketel One Botanical vodka, grapefruit, lime and Luxardo maraschino cherries. If you’re into Old-Fashioneds, try The Count Room’s spin on the classic with the Japanese Old-Fashioned, a mix of Nikka Coffey grain whiskey, simple syrup, Angostura bitters and orange bitters. “It’s much lighter than the classic,” Olson says. “It’s very smooth, and on the finish you get a nice sense of orange. It’s kind of like a multisensory cocktail—you get the taste and smell of the orange.”

Along with getting a tasty education in modern mixology from the bartenders, guests can dig into a small-plates menu with decadent delights like wagyu short rib sliders, lobster rolls and oysters Rockefeller.

The swanky surroundings—plenty of cozy, romantic nooks and a social scene at the bar—set the mood for a throwback experience. Live jazz music on Fridays and Saturdays seals the deal
