Race away from the race! If you’re not into the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix festivities but still want to party with cocktail in hand, here’s a few of our fave suggestions.

A few blocks away from the raceway on the Strip sits Tropicana Las Vegas, and the property houses an awesome drinking spot, Trago Lounge. It’s upscale, offers plenty of seating, low lighting, mood music and some of the best handcrafted cocktails.

Make your way over to Westgate Las Vegas and stop into the intimate bar area of Edge Steakhouse and have super-cool bartender Mike Thompson make a super-cool cocktail. (He’s a great conversationalist, too!)

Up for some live jazz music? The newly opened Fat Cat at Downtown Grand welcomes guests into a laid-back venue for some snazzy beats paired with some specialty cocktails. While downtown, head over to Circa Resort & Casino and enjoy more cocktails at Vegas Vickie’s; be sure to snap some pics with one of the most-iconic neon signs in Las Vegas (pictured).

About one mile away from downtown, if you’re headed back to the Strip, stop by the burgeoning Arts District. This is the place to bar crawl if you like that combination of dives-meets-hipster bars and lounges. Plus, the choice of food in the area is some of the best you’ll have in the city.
