If you’ve already explored Omega Mart at AREA15, you may have thought there was no way Meow Wolf could have possibly made the experiential exhibit any better than it already is. It’s already an ever-evolving, vast fantasyland that transports visitors to an alternate universe where imaginations can frolic freely. What more could you want?

Well, now you can clock in for some after-hours nonsense every Thursday with the designed dimension’s Night Shift, an exclusive, 21-and-up party that lets you explore while enjoying exquisite elixirs that would typically only be available in the attraction’s hidden speakeasy, Datamosh. When the clock strikes 7 p.m., miniature bars materialize in the trippy desert landscape that awaits just past the surface-level supermarket facade.

“If you just want to sit down and enjoy your drink in the exhibit, the desert is the best place to go,” Omega Mart operations manager Kelly Zymanek says. “But there’s Pulse up in the factory … That is my favorite place. It’s just so calming, and it’s mesmerizing the way that the artist created movement in that space with lighting.”

Naturally, this whimsical world features a mixology program full of sippable spectacles made from unique and hard-to-find ingredients. Whiskey enthusiasts will love the Old Fashioned Spray, a take on the traditional cocktail that’s been “zhuzhed” up with Gajárdo Italian triple sec, an ingredient that Zymanek calls the most delicious thing she’s ever tasted.

“There’s a little bit of a show to it with the spray bottle, so we wanted to make sure that if people were ordering it, that it was still something that an Old-Fashioned drinker could enjoy, but then for someone who maybe would not order that all the time … it would be easy to enjoy for them,” Zymanek says.

If you’d rather taste tequila, try the Omegarita, made with blanco, given a splash of smokiness with mezcal, and made refreshing with ginger, citrus, coco bitters and Scrappy’s Firewater, a tincture with habanero and floral flavors. Opt for a sweet treat with the Orange Dream, which tastes just like a Creamsicle, with your choice of vodka or mezcal, orange juice, vanilla, ginger ale and lactose-free vanilla whip.

For something  exceptionally exploratory, order the Happle Juice, a crisp concoction of vodka, Chareau aloe liqueur, apple liqueur, apple juice, rice milk and apple blossom bitters, served with a buzz button—the core of a Szechuan flower that stimulates the taste buds upon consumption.

Kelly’s Do’s and Don’ts

  • Don’t climb through a fireplace with a cocktail in your hand.
  • Do open all of the doors … except emergency exits. Those are real!
  • Definitely do find the pharmacy and visit Datamosh.
