One of the Strip’s most unique bar and lounge experiences is about to get a whole lot more fun this week. Gatsby’s Cocktail Lounge, which provides some serious retro vibes complete with DJs and parties, also has some serious surprises in store for guests on Nov. 12, National Happy Hour Day.
From 4-6 p.m. Nov. 12, Gatsby’s offers the following cocktails for just $12: the Black Market Whiskey Old-Fashioned, made with Black Market rye, Demerara, orange and Angostura bitters; the vodka espresso martini, a blend of vodka, Frangelico liqueur and espresso, all sweetened with vanilla; the vodka lemon drop martini, a classic made with citrus vodka, triple sec and simple syrup; and the Oaxaca Old-Fashioned, a wonderfully flavorful concoction made with reposado tequila, mezcal and agave, all topped with orange and chocolate bitters. The happy hour also offers select glasses of wine and champagne for $8.
Any of these libations makes a wonderful accompaniment to the ambience of Gatsby’s, where the elegant design is highlighted by giant, color-changing orbs overhead, all super-charged by DJs providing danceable music starting at 10 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays. Sometimes the venue will even provide themed nights depending on the concert schedule at nearby Resorts World Theater.
And you’ll want some light bites to enjoy with that cocktail! Luckily Gatsby’s has expanded its happy hour menu to include edamame and shishito peppers, made with yuzu salt and a sudachi emulsion; hamachi crispy rice drizzled in ponzu sauce; and a two-piece cheese and charcuterie board with manchego and serrano cheese.
Whatever your reason for visiting Gatsby’s this week, know this: It’s a popular spot. While there’s plenty of seating, including bar and high-top tables, lounge seating with tables can be booked online (and it’s highly suggested on weekends). And while Gatsby’s shines in handcrafted cocktails, the lounge is truly celebrated for its celebration of champagne, offering 11 different vintages by the glass. “We offer a great list of vintage champagnes with approachable price points,” said Scott Diel, marketing director. “You’d find them at high-end, white-tablecloth restaurants, not something that you’d normally find at a cocktail lounge.”
