One of the Strip’s most historic casino properties has reopened at last after being out of commission for far too long, and its signature dining experience is also back in business. Robert Irvine’s Public House at Tropicana (702.739.2307) has opened its doors with a special “Trop & Go” menu full of quick, convenient and delicious favorites. For breakfast, build your own omelet or double up with the petite fillets steak and eggs. Maybe a burger, BLT, pizza or smoked chicken wings will hit the spot for lunch, and bourbon-maple salmon with grilled asparagus is the headlining dinner dish.

Speaking of tavern-style cuisine, football season has returned, so it’s time to revisit one of the most popular sports bars on the Strip, The Still (702.692.8455) at The Mirage. Be sure to make a reservation if you’re bringing your team to catch the game and enjoy special prices on pitchers of beer and signature cocktails to complement nachos, wings, barbecue chicken quesadillas, tuna poke bowls and grilled fish tacos.

The Crack Shack (702.820.5991) on Las Vegas Boulevard is serving up its addictive fried chicken favorites once again even though its attached Strip resort, Park MGM, remains closed. The newest craveable item on the Shack menu is the hot honey slider, a crispy, tender, sweet and spicy mini bite, but the restaurant has also launched the new Flock Meal family packs with bone-in Jidori fried chicken, “lil cluckers” nuggets, buttery biscuits, fries, coleslaw and cookies. For another mega-meal option, head north on the Strip to Majordomo Meat & Fish (702.607.3060) at The Palazzo, where the weekly Sunday Smokehouse event features the chef’s choice of three meats from the smoker, three side dishes and one dessert to share with your hungry army.

There are plenty of new and exciting off-Strip restaurants worth a quick trip, starting with the brand-new location of Fargo, N. D.-based burger joint Sickies Garage (702.735.5400), found just a few minutes to the south at Town Square. If the bacon cheeseburger on a glazed doughnut doesn’t get your mouth watering, don’t worry — there are 50 burger varieties to choose from, as well as 25 flavors of chicken wings.

Moving west of the Strip, the legendary Sand Dollar Lounge (702.485.5401) on Spring Mountain Road has re-emerged as pop-up restaurant experience Revelré, mixing up the same quality craft cocktails regulars expect at this blues and rock lounge and now adding a selection of Spanish-style small plates and fresh-from-the-oven pizza creations.

On West Sahara, the inspired Italian restaurant Limoncello (702.888.1144) is setting a new standard for the neighborhood with fresh seafood, imported ingredients and house-made pasta dishes such as authentic amatriciana and carbonara.

Just a few blocks east of the Strip, Ellis Island Casino & Brewery’s exciting new Front Yard beer garden and restaurant space (702.733.8901) is quickly becoming a one-stop destination for watching sports, catching some live music and enjoying all your favorite food and drinks in a comfortable indoor-outdoor environment. The Front Yard just launched a new weekend brunch menu armed with French toast waffles, smoked beef brisket eggs Benedict, avocado toast with beet glaze and other tempting treats, plus a six-pack selection of Ellis Island’s original brews on tap. This place has everything you could possible need for a mid-morning masterpiece of a meal or an all-day hangout.
