With recent news that celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s recently opened Bobby’s Burgers outlet at Caesars Palace (866.227.5938) will soon be expanding with locations at Harrah’s and Paris, it seems like a great time to discuss some of the absolutely crave-worthy burgers available across the Las Vegas valley. Let’s begin with Flay’s successful burger operation, already a popular fixture at the Forum Food Court thanks to Flay’s recipes inspired by his childhood crush on the great American hamburger. Each juicy bite might transport you to a backyard cookout, with varied toppings including potato chips, bacon, pickled jalapeños and tomato salsa. Don’t forget the extra-crunchy fries and a creamy, dark chocolate milkshake.

Not all great Vegas burgers come from the mind of a famous chef. A longtime favorite of locals and visitors is the homegrown Fukuburger (702.217.0758), which has a pair of restaurant locations in Chinatown and in the southwest just off the Beltway as well as a concession stand at Allegiant Stadium. Asian flavors and ingredients mingle with a nostalgic fast-food approach to create memorable burgers here, including the Tamago with a fried egg, crispy onions, teriyaki sauce and wasabi mayo; and the Buta with applewood smoked bacon, American cheese, pickled onions and red ginger.

Bavette’s Steakhouse (702.730.6700) at Park MGM, a stylish transplant from the Windy City, serves one of our all-time favorite burgers, an 8-ounce patty griddled to perfection with sharp American cheese, Dijonnaise, thick-cut bacon and hand-cut fries on the side. It’s inspired by the legendary Au Cheval cheeseburger created by the same Chicago-based hospitality company behind Bavette’s, and it lives up to the hype every time.

Back in the burbs, DW Bistro (702.527.5200) is known for its innovative flavor combinations, terrific baked goods and sublime weekend brunch. But regulars also love DW for its New Mexico chili burger, topped with jack cheese, jalapeño bacon, spicy and fragrant green chilis, lettuce, heirloom tomatoes and chipotle mayo. It’s an over-the-top combination in every bite.

One of Town Square’s newest dining additions is Sickies Garage (702.735.5400), a casual place to catch a game and feast on bold burger creations topped with signature combos like macaroni and cheese and bacon, pineapple slices and fried pickles, cheese curds and fried jalapeños, and Jameson whiskey barbecue sauce plus peppered bacon and cheddar cheese. Sickies takes the classic sandwich to new levels, and you can build your own burger, too.

Tie up your Las Vegas burger tour neatly with a visit to Gordon Ramsay Burger (702.785.5555) at Planet Hollywood Resort and take a stab at the iconic Hell’s Kitchen burger, a blended beef patty with asadero cheese, roasted jalapeños and tomatoes, avocado and jalapeño aioli. It’s cool and spicy at the same time, and if it doesn’t fit your personal flavor profile, try the Stout burger with Guinness mustard, Gruyère cheese, mushrooms and crispy onions, or the Farmhouse burger with Dubliner, bacon and a fried egg. Ramsay’s take on America’s favorite meal is one of the most satisfying burgers on the Strip.
