Perhaps no other show in Las Vegas lives up to its name as effectively as Sexxy. Combining old-school Vegas style with a slick modern sensibility, the topless revue from creator, choreographer and star Jennifer Romas brings the classic, iconic image of the showgirl into the present. That starts by having a showgirl herself in charge, with Romas as the lead dancer along with six other performers onstage for each show, including versatile singer, comedian and dancer Gabriella Versace.
Of course, all the performers are sexy and they get plenty of chances to show off that quality. But there’s far more to these women than mere sexiness. Just witness the breathtaking acrobatics of the silks routine set to Marilyn Manson’s dark industrial version of “Tainted Love,” or Versace belting out “I Put a Spell on You,” or the dancers playfully bringing audience members out of their shells (and onstage), and you’ll see how amazingly talented the stars of Sexxy are. There are cheeky numbers like a French maid routine set to Bjork’s “It’s Oh So Quiet,” and sophisticated numbers like a masked pas de deux featuring dancers in flowing skirts, but every piece in the show is meticulously crafted—and just as sexy as advertised.
