Over the course of its 50-plus-year history, Fleetwood Mac has had two constants, and they’re the two men who give the band its name: drummer Mick Fleetwood and bassist John McVie. For some fans, the definitive Fleetwood Mac era is the one led by blues-rock singer-guitarist Peter Green, who delivered classics like “Oh Well” and “Black Magic Woman.” Other fans prefer singer-songwriters Jeremy Spencer or Danny Kirwan or Bob Welch, who worked alongside and/or right after Green. For many, Fleetwood Mac is all about the band’s ’70s-’80s heyday, when Christine McVie, Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham turned out tons of pop-rock hits, from “Don’t Stop” to “Go Your Own Way.”

Through it all, Fleetwood and John McVie have anchored the band’s music in rock-solid rhythms. The current tour features Nicks and Christine McVie, along with recent recruits Mike Campbell on guitar and Neil Finn on guitar and vocals. Set lists have featured songs from throughout Fleetwood Mac’s history, emphasizing the contributions that so many talented people have made over the years, while the band’s namesake musicians have held it all together.
