Last month, The Front Yard at Ellis Island Casino & Brewery released a delicious and creative new brunch menu.

Guests can settle in for brunch between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday inside the Front Yard’s two-story beer garden-type setting. The menu is packed with so much goodness it’ll be hard to choose what dishes to order, so it might be a good idea to order a bunch of options and share.

Under the “Sweet Things” portion, the French Toast waffle is made with Hawaiian sweet bread that’s covered in French toast batter and pressed in a waffle iron, then covered with spiced powdered sugar, maple syrup and butter. The Stuffed Crunch Toast uses strawberry cream cheese stuffed inside the French toast, battered in corn flakes and served with maple butter, whipped cream and syrup.

For a little something extra, move down to the “Sumthin’ Special” portion of the menu for creative dishes like the Salmon Lox Flatbread topped with salmon lox, caper cream cheese, red onions, sliced tomatoes and dill. Go for a twist on a brunch classic with the Brisket Benedict, made with cheddar biscuits topped with smoked brisket, caramelized onions and bourbon barbecue drizzle. For a Korean breakfast twist, there’s the Fries & Shine, French fries topped with a fried egg, pork belly, kimchi, kalbi sauce and spicy mayo.

Hearty brunch options include the Caveman Skillet, piled with country-fried potatoes, brisket, onions, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and two scrambled eggs. Or opt for the steak and eggs, a 6-ounce New York steak with two eggs any style and home fries served with a side of steakhouse butter. For more rib-sticking options, there’s The Front Yard Burger, the French dip or the CBR Crunch, a cornflake-and-bacon-crusted chicken breast sandwich served with hot honey, chipotle ranch dressing, lettuce and tomato.

What to wash down all the goodness with? Offerings include bottomless mimosas and all-day rosé, as well as the Spicy Mary, a jalapeño-infused vodka mixed with Bloody Mary mix, A1 steak sauce and lime. Specialty cocktails fall under the “Breakfast of Champions” portion of the menu. The six liquid delights include the Old Vegas Knight, featuring Bulleit bourbon, Luxardo cherries, salted caramel and maple syrup, or the Drunken Panda, made with Tito’s Handmade vodka and Black Cherry White Claw hard seltzer. Beer lovers might want to try fresh brews from Ellis Island’s own brewery with the Build Your Own Brew Flight, your choice of any four Ellis Island beers. There’s also light beer and dark beer flights and the Golden Knight Flight served with Golden Bock, Hefe, Irish Stout and Coffee Stout.

"With the menu chef John Alers has put together—partnered with the upcoming beautiful weather and bottomless mimosas—it's hard to go wrong with brunch in The Front Yard,” says Christina Ellis, director of marketing for Ellis Island Casino & Brewery. “We're excited to get creative with the space over time, and we're happy to provide people with a safe, indoor-outdoor patio where they can get their brunch fix.”

Ellis Island ensures COVID-19 guidelines are followed including socially distanced tables, partitions between booth seating and parties limited to six guests at one table. Brunch seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis, so it’s best to call ahead and check availability.
