Those who followed Shin Lim’s journey on America’s Got Talent know his story very well by now: He was training to be a classical pianist, but because of carpal tunnel syndrome, he had to choose between the piano and magic. Most who have had the pleasure of seeing him perform must believe he made the right decision. It’s a safe bet to say that Lim’s residency at The Mirage is one of the hottest on the Las Vegas Strip, and when you add AGT competitor and mentalist Colin Cloud into the mix, you have a show that just can’t miss.
Lim and Cloud take turns entertaining the audience; there’s plenty of audience participation when Cloud comes out, and he’s the perfect complement to Lim’s awe-inspiring magic, helping to keep the crowd laughing and loose. His is a different kind of magic than Lim, but it’s no less impressive. But it’s Lim that truly steals the show, with lightning-fast sleight-of-hand that will make you rethink that whole blinking thing.
