Outside of the culinary world, Jean-Georges Vongerichten may not be a household name, but it’s a name any Vegas visitor needs to remember, for Jean Georges Steakhouse is one of the most exquisite dining experiences on the Strip. From the elegant, art deco-inspired décor of the space, to playful twists on classic cuisine, the steakhouse promises to impress.

Vongerichten is well-known for incorporating Asian-inspired influences in his cuisine, and it starts with the cocktails. If you’re looking for something bold, go for the Japanese Old-Fashioned, a blend of Japanese whisky, Demerara sugar, ginger and bitters, but if you prefer something light and refreshing, a gin and tonic balanced with yuzu fruit and shiso leaves is the perfect choice.

Move on to appetizers like the Japanese wagyu carpaccio served with black truffle fritters and lime salt, bacon-wrapped shrimp with avocado and papaya mustard, or pan-roasted octopus with crunchy potatoes and smoked chilies. From the raw bar, other delicious bites await, such as the Gulf shrimp cocktail, oysters on the half shell and the crispy sushi sampler.

As an entrée, you’re likely to salivate over their selection of steaks. Prepared in a wood-burning grill, which fires up apricot and mesquite wood that give the meats a unique flavor profile, you’ll find juicy cuts like filet mignon, New York strip, and a huge tomahawk ribeye. But those are pretty standard cuts among steakhouses on the Strip. Yet, Jean Georges Steakhouse carries a supreme cut of beef you won’t find in most steakhouses: the vaunted A5 certified Kobe beef. Although it clocks in at $65 an ounce (3-ounce minimum), you should treat yourself, because you may not get another chance to try that beautifully marbled, melt-in-your mouth hunk of meat.

If you’re looking for leaner meat, the Chilean sea bass with a miso-yuzu glaze or the roasted salmon with Brussels sprouts are equally delicious options. Pair any entrée with sides like the creamy black truffle mac and cheese, crunchy potatoes, creamed spinach or hand-cut fries. Then, cap off the night with warm Valrhona chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream, or a seasonal sorbet, and enjoy the quiet final moments of a perfect meal. We promise you’ll remember the name from now on.
